The 2013-2014 Educational Leadership Consultants (ELCs) just completed two weeks of training and are headed to their first recruitment visits of the year!
Even though this will be my second year as a consultant, I am absolutely obsessed with ELC training. There is always something new to learn, and it is such an exciting time for Alpha Phi with all of the updates, changes and progress being made. One of the best parts of training is definitely the team bonding. I am so excited to be a part of the 2013-2014 Team, and I have loved getting to know the sixteen other women from across the country that make up our team. In a job that the majority of the world doesn’t understand, it is so nice to have a team that understands your day-to-day and experiences the same things as you, the often repeated question of, “Wait, so where do you actually live?” From seeing a show at Second City to attending a Cubs game, we have loved our time in Chicago and Evanston!
Now we are all headed to chapters for what is personally my favorite time of the Alpha Phi year: recruitment season! Being an ELC is honestly the best job ever, and it is so much fun to work with and impact so many incredible chapters across the country. So here’s to a great recruitment season full of chanting, door stacking and skits! I am thrilled that I get to experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a second time. And since I’m currently en route to our fabulous Beta Mu chapter at the University of Alabama, Roll Tide Roll!
Dakotah Lindsay (Beta Pi-USC) is a second year ELC.
