Cate Cullen (Beta Mu – Alabama)
Cate Cullen is an 18-year-old Alpha Phi at the University of Alabama (Beta Mu). Majoring in Broadcast Journalism, her goal is to one day be a national morning news anchor or host her own daytime talk show. She also enjoys staying active in various activities including hosting a weekly 2 hour radio show on 90.7 The Capstone, being Alpha Phi’s Social Chair, a City Chair and an Ice Water Tea Day Chair for Formal Recruitment all while competing in pageants and being a member of the University of Alabama’s Honors College. Cate loves singing while she drives, working out and playing with Lexie Bear, her Yorkie. Change is nothing new to this Alpha Phi. Cate has attended 15 different schools, lived in Yokohama, Japan for four years and travelled to five out of the seven continents. A true Alabama fan and Alpha Phi at heart, her two favorite sayings are “Roll Tide” and “AOE”.
Murphy Dowd (Theta Delta – Creighton)
Murphy is a freshman at Creighton University majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in French. She is a founding member of the Theta Delta colony, currently serving as the head of the Philanthropy & Community Service committee. Currently, Murphy is involved with the nationally-recognized Freshman Leadership Program, Creighton Student Union Program Board's Street Team, and she is an avid volunteer at Precious Memories Daycare and the South Omaha Boys & Girls Club. She eventually hopes to become even more involved with the development of Alpha Phi on Creighton's campus, and aspires to have a career as an event planner, post graduate school.
Jamie White (Gamma Phi – Florida State)
Jamie is a senior studying English with a focus in media. She began her membership in Alpha Phi as a charter member of the Gamma Phi chapter at Florida State University. She served as the Chapter President of the first Executive Council, which was an amazing experience and has made her time in college truly unique and memorable. Prior to joining her sisterhood, she was heavily involved with FSU Homecoming and served on the Executive Board as the Assistant Director of Sponsorships as a sophomore and Director of Student Groups her junior and senior year. She has a passion for student growth and leadership and of course, writing! She is currently the campus editor for the Uloop Student News Network and plans to pursue a career in editorial work. When she isn't working or going to school, she can be found in a corner with her Kindle, watching Madmen, or enjoying her last year with her Alpha Phi sisters. Go 'Noles!
Maria Opatz (Gamma Omicron – Drake)
Maria Opatz is a sophomore studying Public Relations and Marketing at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is the her chapter's Director of Formal Recruitment and is very excited to live in Drake's big yellow Alpha Phi house with her sisters next year! During her two years in college, she has kept busy by being involved in various leadership and communication organizations, serving on several Alpha Phi committees, and working as a public relations intern. When she isn't spending time with her sisters or friends, she is addicted to watching Grey's Anatomy, working out, trying new recipes, and relaxing with her family at her cabins. After she graduates, she hopes to work at a successful PR agency and live on one of Minnesota’s 10,000 beautiful lakes.
Emily Johnson moved from the “tundra” of Minnesota to the desert of Arizona and has spent the last four years completing her degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Special Event Management at Arizona State University. A senior, graduating in May, her most rewarding leadership experiences as a sister of Alpha Phi were serving as the Vice President of Membership Recruitment and being part of the committee to help organize and implement the Gamma Pi chapter's first ever Mr. Ivy Pageant. This fall she put her event planning skills to use and served as the Director of Coronation through the ASU Programming Activities Board where she planned and directed the process of selecting ASU's Homecoming King and Queen. Emily was Miss Teen Arizona International 2009 and promoted her platform Bringing America Home: Ending Child Homelessness. She enjoys spending time with her sisters, cooking new recipes, crafting ideas from Pinterest and doing crossfit.
