Alpha Phi to install its newest chapter – Iota Nu at the University of Kentucky

By: Lori Losee (Beta Rho-Washington State University)

On Saturday, April 10, more than 120 women will be initiated in to Alpha Phi followed by the installation of Alpha Phi’s newest chapter – Iota Nu at the University of Kentucky.

Saturday is the culmination of nearly a year in the making. In the Spring of 2009, Alpha Phi was chosen out of many fantastic NPC sororities to join UK’s Greek community and became the newest sorority to colonize on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

With the support of several Fraternity staff members, ELCs and a core team of alumnae volunteers, the inaugural new member class was recruited in the fall and over the last seven months, they have been introduced to Alpha Phi and have elected officers and are ready for their next challenge of transitioning from a colony to an installed chapter.

The Iota Nu Chapter has had several successful events including:

· Participating in UK’s Dance Blue, raising $8,400 and had 29 dancers participate

· Attended their first South East Regional Conference

· Hosted a Sweetheart Dance with Sigma Nu

· Hosted their first IGPA Philanthropy Event with Delta Gamma, Phi Gamma Delta, and Delta Tau Delta, a 5on5 basketball tournament called Greek Madness.

Join us in welcoming Iota Nu to the Alpha Phi family!
