Are you on Facebook? I am. It’s addicting and fun, but why did you join? I know many of us joined social networking sites to catch up on what the captain of our high school football team looks like now but these website aren’t just about information, they’re about reconnecting. Thanks to Facebook, we have the tools to find our old friends and sisters, women with whom we shared our joys and tears.

There are so many great things that I remember about the women in my chapter and it is so nice to be back in touch with them. The best part about social websites is that you don’t have to ask people what they have been doing for the past fifteen years. With all of our hectic lifestyles, who has time to chat about everything that has happened in the past fifteen years? All it takes is the “like” button and viola, you are back in touch! A quick birthday wish or a funny comment under someone’s status is all you need.

One of the greatest tools we have all used to get back in touch is the events application. Organize a dinner, send out an invitation and before you know it, we’re all back together again. I can’t tell you how many laughs I have had with these girls over dinner in the past few months. It’s wonderful to learn that we have all matured into great women.

So the next time you log onto Facebook or Twitter, don’t just check up on your old boyfriend, take the time to see what your old sisters are doing. You never know when an opportunity or a chance to reconnect may pop up.
